What is predictive maintenance AI?
Predictive maintenance AI uses sensor data from equipment (vibration, temperature, current draw, acoustic signal) to model the wear pattern of components and forecast when a failure is likely. The plant uses the forecast to replace the component during planned downtime rather than after an unplanned failure. The technique works best on rotating equipment and equipment with electrical signatures that change as wear progresses.
Do I need a smart factory to use manufacturing AI?
