BCDR  //  Recovery for Houston SMBs
When every minute of downtime costs you money, recovery speed matters.

Ransomware, hurricanes, power failures, hardware crashes - the cause is different every time, but the question is always the same: how fast can you get back to work? For a 30-person business in Houston, one day of downtime can cost more than the entire year's IT budget.

Houston businesses face risks other cities don't. Hurricane season is annual reality. Extended grid outages aren't hypothetical. Flooding can take an office offline for weeks. And ransomware doesn't wait for fair weather. A continuity plan that only accounts for one of these scenarios leaves you exposed to the rest.

// What recovery actually requires

Five layers, designed for Houston-specific scenarios, tested before you need them.

Every layer below has a job, and every job has been drilled. Backups you can prove, off-site copies a ransomware payload can't reach, failover that brings revenue systems back first, and a runbook your team has rehearsed before the storm hits.

// Recovery designed around your business

BCDR built around one question: how fast does your business need to be operational again?

CinchOps works backward from your answer. The systems that generate revenue and serve clients are prioritized first. Your team knows exactly what to do - because we've walked through the plan with them before the emergency.

01

Worked backward from your RTO

The recovery time you can afford drives the design - not the other way around. We document it, build to hit it, and test against it. No template, no guessing what "good enough" means until you're in the middle of an outage.

02

Revenue systems prioritized first

The systems that generate income and serve clients come back first - file shares, line-of-business apps, communications. Internal tooling and reporting come later. Recovery isn't a single switch; it's a sequence with the right things first.

03

Your team knows the plan, before the emergency

A runbook with names, mobile numbers, decision rights, and escalation triggers - walked through with your team in advance. Quarterly tabletops keep it current. The first time someone reads the IR plan should never be the actual incident.

04

Designed for Houston-specific scenarios

Hurricane evacuation, week-long power outages on the Gulf Coast, flooding, ransomware - your plan accounts for the actual risks your business faces. Not a one-size-fits-all template from a provider who's never dealt with hurricane season.

FAQs

Have Questions?

We already have backups. Is that not enough?
A backup answers whether the data still exists. Continuity answers how long you are down and what it costs you while you are. Those are different problems. Plenty of businesses discover during an actual outage that their data was fine and it still took a week to be operational again.
How quickly could we be running again?
That gets set deliberately rather than assumed. During planning, critical systems are identified and each one gets a target recovery time based on what downtime actually costs you - the order line and the file server rarely deserve the same answer. The plan is built to those targets, then tested against them.
How do we know the backups actually work?
Because they get tested. Continuity plans go through regular validation exercises that restore from backup and confirm the recovery performs as designed, so gaps surface during a drill instead of during a real emergency. An untested backup is a hope, not a plan.
Can ransomware reach our backups?
That is exactly the scenario the design accounts for. Copies are kept both on-site for speed and in remote locations for isolation, so an attack that reaches your production environment does not reach every copy of your data. Backup integrity is monitored, not assumed.
What does business continuity cost?
BCDR is part of managed plans within the flat $100 to $250 per user per month, and it is one of the main reasons a business lands higher in that range. A full continuity plan for a complex environment, or a dedicated recovery site, is scoped separately. The comparison worth running is against a week of downtime, not against a line item.
