Network Assessment and Audit for Houston Businesses

Most Houston SMB networks were rarely properly designed. They were grown one closet at a time. An honest audit surfaces what is actually there.

Managed IT services offer comprehensive, business-focused solutions that drive productivity, enhance security, and align technology with your strategic goals.

Network Assessment & Audit

How We Assess Your Network

Mapped, documented, and ranked, not guessed.

Every device discovered: We scan and inventory everything on the network, so the unmanaged switch nobody remembers gets found.

Topology documented: We build a current network diagram, so troubleshooting starts from a map instead of guesswork.

Wireless surveyed: We check coverage, dead zones, and capacity, so Wi-Fi problems are located instead of lived with.

Hardware lifecycle checked: We flag end-of-life switches and firmware gaps, so failures become planned replacements.

Bottlenecks and single points of failure named: We identify where the network chokes and where one failure takes you down, so the risks are visible.

Findings ranked: Results come sorted into fix now, budget for, and can wait, so the assessment turns into a plan.

A Katy-based engineer runs it: One engineer walks your site and explains what they found, so you get judgment, not an automated scan.

Map your network and find the weak points before they find you.

network assessment  //  Houston SMBs

Most SMB networks were not designed. They grew one closet at a time.

Walk into a typical Houston small business network and you find a switch nobody documented, a wireless access point added during a remodel, and an IP scheme that made sense to whoever set it up in 2014. It works, mostly, until it does not, and then nobody knows what connects to what. A network assessment surfaces what is actually there.

CinchOps maps your whole network, devices, switches, wireless, and internet paths, and tells you what is healthy, what is a bottleneck, and what is quietly about to fail.

// What CinchOps does

CinchOps assesses your network for Houston businesses, devices, switches, wireless, and internet paths, and delivers a documented topology and a ranked health report instead of a network nobody can explain.

// why CinchOps runs your assessment

You cannot fix, secure, or budget for a network you cannot see.

An undocumented network is a problem hiding until the worst possible moment. CinchOps assesses networks for Houston construction firms, engineering offices, manufacturers, and CPA practices, and leaves behind a diagram and a plan instead of tribal knowledge in one person’s head.

01

A diagram that actually exists

Most SMBs have no current network diagram. We build one, so when something breaks you are troubleshooting from a map instead of guessing.

02

Problems named before they fail

We flag the end-of-life switch and the single internet connection before they take you down, so failures are planned replacements instead of emergencies.

03

A plan, not just a report

Findings come ranked with what to fix now, what to budget for, and what can wait, so the assessment turns into action.

04

A named Katy-based engineer runs it

One engineer walks your site, maps the network, and explains what they found, so you are not handed an automated scan with no context.

FAQs

Have Questions?

What does a network assessment cover?
A thorough network assessment covers physical cabling, switch and router configurations, wireless coverage and security, firewall rules, internet circuits, IP addressing, name services, segmentation, and a security posture review of devices on the network. The deliverable is a written report with diagrams, photos, and a prioritized remediation list, not a raw tool dump.
How long does a network audit take?
For a Houston small or mid-sized business with one to three locations, a full network assessment usually runs two to four weeks from kickoff to written report. The variation depends on environment complexity, how much documentation already exists, and how accessible the network closets and equipment racks are during the walkthrough phase.
Will the assessment disrupt our business?
A well-run assessment is mostly invisible to users. Configuration extraction and scanning happen during business hours with minimal load, and on-site closet visits are scheduled around the workday. The only time business impact is possible is if remediation work begins, and that is scheduled with the customer separately.
Do you provide the report only or also fix what you find?
CinchOps can do either. Some Houston customers want the assessment as a third-party check on their internal team or current provider. Others want CinchOps to execute the prioritized fix list as part of a managed services engagement. The report stands on its own, and the remediation work is optional.
How often should networks be reassessed?
Once is a useful starting point, but most Houston businesses benefit from a lighter quarterly review of configurations and a fuller annual reassessment. Networks drift, vendors change, and rules accumulate. Building a cadence into managed services means the documentation stays accurate rather than going stale between major assessments.
