Do small businesses still need on-premises servers?
Fewer than before, but many still do: line-of-business applications that vendors will not host, latency-sensitive systems, large local data sets, and domain controllers for older environments. CinchOps assesses each server and recommends keep, consolidate, move or retire, then manages whatever remains.
What does managed server support include?
Scheduled patching of the operating system, hypervisor and firmware; continuous monitoring of health, capacity and services; image and file backups with tested restores; security hardening; capacity planning; and a maintained runbook for each server.
Which server platforms does CinchOps support?
Windows Server, Hyper-V and VMware hosts, common Linux distributions for appliances and applications, and hybrid setups connected to Microsoft Azure or AWS.
How often are servers patched, and will it cause downtime?
Monthly as a baseline, with out-of-band patches for critical vulnerabilities. Updates are tested first and applied in an agreed maintenance window, usually overnight, with services verified afterward and a rollback plan if something misbehaves.
What happens when a server fails?
Monitoring usually catches the warning signs first, such as a predictive drive failure or a service that keeps restarting. If a server does fail, the tested backup and runbook mean recovery follows a known procedure, and a Katy-based engineer can be on site when the hardware needs hands.
