Vendor Audit

How We Run the Audit

Cost, performance, and risk, graded keep or cut.

Contracts inventoried: We build the full list of technology vendors you pay, including the line items nobody remembers approving.

Cost mapped to deliverables: We compare total spend per vendor against what they actually deliver, so the easy savings become visible.

Overlap found: We identify vendors doing the same job, the duplicate tools and platforms that pile up over the years.

Vendor access reviewed: We list which vendors can reach your systems and which ones never went through a security review, because third-party access is real risk.

SLA performance checked: We measure response times and uptime against each contract, so a vendor under SLA for two quarters becomes a renegotiation.

Renewals flagged: We surface every auto-renew date and notice window, so renewals become decisions instead of surprises.

A Katy-based engineer walks you through it: One engineer performs the audit and explains the grades, so you can defend every vendor decision at budget time.

Get a vendor audit that grades every technology vendor keep, renegotiate, or cut, from a team that has sat on both sides of the contract.

vendor audit  //  Houston SMBs

An audit that tells you which vendors actually deliver.

Too many IT vendors, contracts that auto-renew without review, and a procurement process nobody has touched since the last leadership change. The invoices keep clearing and nobody is sure why.

CinchOps audits what each vendor costs, what they deliver, and what risk they bring, then ranks which ones to keep, renegotiate, or cut.

// What CinchOps does

A vendor audit reviews every technology vendor your business pays, what each one delivers, what it costs, and what risk it carries. CinchOps inventories the contracts, finds the overlap and the auto-renewals nobody reviews, checks which vendors have access to your systems without a security review, and grades each one keep, renegotiate, or cut. The result is a vendor list you can defend at budget time.

// why CinchOps runs your audit

We grade vendors the way you would if you had the time.

CinchOps audits vendors for Houston and Katy SMBs across construction, manufacturing, engineering, and professional services, where vendor lists grow faster than anyone reviews them. We have run procurement from the inside and we know which questions get answers.

01

Cost, performance, and risk in one review

We do not just look at price. We weigh what each vendor delivers and what risk their access brings, so the grade reflects reality.

02

We catch the silent renewals

Every auto-renew date and notice window goes on the calendar, so you decide on renewals instead of discovering them.

03

We can manage the cleanup

CinchOps can renegotiate, consolidate, or replace the vendors flagged, or hand the list to your team to run. The plan is yours either way.

04

A Katy-based engineer runs it

One engineer performs the audit and explains the grades, so you can defend every vendor decision at budget time.

FAQs

Have Questions?

Which vendors does the audit cover?
All IT-related vendors: software subscriptions, cloud services, managed services contracts, telecom and internet providers, hardware suppliers, security tools, backup and recovery services, and consulting engagements. The audit also covers the smaller vendors that ride on a personal card and get reimbursed back. The accounting system is the starting inventory, the IT environment is the second pass.
What does CinchOps look at on each vendor?
Five dimensions: performance against the contract SLAs and deliverables, contract terms (auto-renewal, termination notice, price increases), security posture (questionnaire, attestation, breach history), redundancy with other vendors doing similar work, and the dependency level the business has on that vendor. Each gets a score, and the scores roll up into the renewal recommendation.
How does the audit handle security questionnaires?
CinchOps maintains a standard vendor security questionnaire mapped to the common compliance frameworks and cyber insurance requirements. Vendors that touch firm data get the questionnaire, the responses are reviewed against the firm's risk standard, and gaps are flagged for renegotiation or replacement. The questionnaire becomes part of the procurement workflow going forward.
What if a vendor is critical and there is no alternative?
The audit notes the dependency, flags the lack of alternatives as a business continuity issue, and recommends compensating controls. Common compensating controls are stronger contract terms (notice periods, data portability, escrow), parallel relationships with similar vendors as a backup, and internal documentation of the workflow so a switch would be possible if the vendor failed.
How often should we re-audit?
Annually is the right cadence for the full audit. The renewal calendar runs continuously, so high-value contracts get a 90-day review before each auto-renewal date. New vendors get vetted at procurement time using the same scoring framework. Most CinchOps clients fold the vendor review into the same operating cadence as the IT cost assessment.
